Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
