Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking passing of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The Discovery

As detailed in an account quoting a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

Upon entering the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Following this, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family questioned several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Furthermore pushed back against widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
