Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
