Both are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following Brendan Rodgers' departure on Monday.

The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss described the Glasgow giants as "a really big football club" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old took charge of Portman Road in 2021 and led them to the Premier League with back-to-back promotions, but they won just four games last campaign as they were relegated back to the second division and they currently sit twelfth place in England's second tier.

"I have not had such discussions," the London-born former Northern Ireland youth international said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is this week.

"I have a special position here at a remarkable team. And we're at a really important phase of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't touched my radar."

Context and Agreement Aspects

Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to Celtic given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about those. "I don't think everyone has to publicly and announce what they used to be, but of course it's a really big football club."

The coach signed a fresh multi-year deal in last year and was questioned about his alleged buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I tackle this role like I'll be Town's coach indefinitely. I know that's not invariably going to be the case, but I'll always do my best as while I am here."

The Welsh Coach's Situation

Bellamy represented the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in 2005, but the former Welsh forward is inclined to finish the current World Cup campaign, a stance that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from assuming the Glasgow position.

The Welsh squad are presently third in their qualifying group behind group toppers the Red Devils and second-placed North Macedonia.

Wins over the minnows and their rivals in November would secure their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of making those, due to a productive European competition performance, even if they fail to finish as their group runners-up.

Considering his current position, the Wales manager, whose agreement concludes after the European Championship, would be unavailable until following the qualifying matches at the minimum.
